Paula is a published author of two books, one of which she wrote after becoming a parent. Raising Careful Confident Kids in a Crazy World (HarperPerennial) was published in five languages and featured on Oprah. Her second book, Life on a Balance Beam, grew out of her keynotes at conferences around the U.S. and Canada.
Paula’s extensive national broadcast media experience includes repeat appearances on Oprah and The Today Show. In 2004 she was a media spokesperson for GlaxoSmithKline. In 2005 she presented keynotes around the country, sponsored by Proctor and Gamble, as part of Olay’s “Love the Skin You’re In” campaign.
Her pro bono work includes leading workshops for teenagers on public speaking. Four times a year she leads “How to Have a Blast on the Bimah and Impress Your Friends and Family!” for Bar and Bat Mitzvah students.
Paula holds a B.S. in education from the University of Kansas, a M.S.S.W. from the University of Wisconsin, and is a former Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California.
